Wal-Mart Is Moving Downtown

A new era in American retailing has arrived: Wal-Mart stores are now desired mall tenants along with specialty shops and department stores.
"The nation's discounters, once relegated to unglamorous suburban strip malls, have become stars that are commanding space alongside upscale specialty shops and traditional department stores. With Wal-Mart and Target coming back to the downtowns of America, traditional views of infill development may require a new lens."
