Transportation officials, citizens polishing new people-and-pavement policies
Michigans Department of Transportation is completing a new design policy meant to better reflect the desires of local communities. The policy, context-sensitive design, would change the practices of a powerful state agency long known for its rigid approach to building highways, bus and train facilities, bicycle routes, and sidewalks.
