Florida cities want more control over shaping the future of the fast-growing state.

"The Florida League of Cities plans to push the Florida Legislature in March to take some of the state-level regulation of development away from decision-makers in Tallahassee and give that power to regional planning councils.""But environmentalists and builders alike question turning more of the state's regulatory powers over to local boards."
