The Oregonian gets George Bush and John Kerry to respond to questions about their stand on environmental issues.
The presidential candidates' silence on environment subjects has very nearly allowed critics to define their images in the extremes: Bush, the tool of industry; Kerry, the radical environmentalist.The Oregonian sought a more complete picture. It asked each candidate 15 questions of core environmental concern to the Pacific Northwest and, in some cases, the world.
