Unproductive Oil Wells Despoil Utah Wilderness

Oil and gas leases are devastating wilderness areas in Utah, even though these supplies are enough to feed US oil demand for about four days.
The Department of the Interior last year lifted all restrictions on almost 3 million acres of wild red rock landscape in Utah that had previously been considered for wilderness protection -- even though the State produces less than 1% of the Nation's oil and gas.
