Desert City Testbed For Water Usage Research

Arizona State University plans to use Phoenix as a living laboratory to learn about balancing growth with water resource management.
"'Much of the center's work will be easily translated to desert cities around the world, but the actual research will home in on growth and water issues in Phoenix', Redman said. 'The aim is to provide information that's helpful in the real world, whether it's deciding how much water to release from a reservoir or whether to build a new subdivision'."
