Paris' Love-Hate Relationship With The Car

Paris is one of 1,100, most of them in Europe, to observe a "car-free" day.
"A few days before it will host a major auto show to be opened by French President Jacques Chirac, Paris will hold its sixth annual 'car-free' day to highlight the city's ongoing experiment in urban living without automotive dependence... Many other European cities, including London, Madrid and Stockholm will be following suit in banning cars from streets, but Rome and Berlin will not."
