Many communities are clamoring for smart growth development that delivers attractive, walkable, mixed-use neighborhoods. Unfortunately, current zoning codes and land development regulations present major impediments to making smart growth a reality.
The Local Government Commission sponsored a series of workshops to provide the tools to assist in either fine-tuning or completely revamping a communitys zoning codes and policies to create more livable communities, and has published the presentations from these workshops on their website.
