Developing Smart Growth Zoning Codes

Dozens of presentations from several workshop on developing smart growth zoning codes are published by the LGC.

Many communities are clamoring for smart growth development that delivers attractive, walkable, mixed-use neighborhoods. Unfortunately, current zoning codes and land development regulations present major impediments to making smart growth a reality.

The Local Government Commission sponsored a series of workshops to provide the tools to assist in either fine-tuning or completely revamping a community’s zoning codes and policies to create more livable communities, and has published the presentations from these workshops on their website.
