Historic Water Deal To Force Water Conservation

A historic water deal between seven Western states could limit California's portion of Colorado River and force extensive water conservation in the State.
A draft water plan agreed to by seven western states will limit California's portion of Colorado River. The plan will also force extensive water conservation in the California by giving the state a 15-year deadline for conserving water. The draft plan is subject to environmental review and revisions by Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt.
