8 August 2004 - 5:00am
The oldest continuously operating public market in Ohio, makes the transition to non-profit management.
Findlay Market, newly renovated, but still the oldest continuously operating public market in Ohio, will be transferred by the city to the non-profit Corporation for Findlay Market today. A total renovation, begun in 2001, has transformed the public square into a clean, colorful, flower-laden retail oasis. The surrounding area, Over the Rhine, one of the citys most depressed neighborhoods, hopes to benefit from expanded use of the market by people in the entire metro area.
