Blazing A New Trail
3 August 2004 - 12:00pm
PATH Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to developing a metrowide trail system for Atlanta, aims to build a trail that stretches from Alabama to downtown Atlanta.
"...the PATH Foundation believes it has found a way to connect the downtown park with the Silver Comet Trail's starting point in Cobb County at the Chattahoochee River. The missing link can be solved by using one of Georgia Power's major utility corridors...
Utility companies have transmission lines traversing all over the metro area and the state often directly connecting towns and cities. It would be wonderful if those high-power transmission lines could be buried and those easements could become corridors for alternative transportation."

For the past half century we have been building communities for the wrong reasons. We built them to sell cars. This created all sorts of problems.
