Cincinnati Seeks To Plug Hole In Riverfront

Fifteen acres of prime real estate sits in limbo as the city scrambles to find developers.
Located between two new stadiums and a new museum, the Banks could become some of the most attractive properties in the area if Cincinnati's officials could raise enough money, or attract a cash-rich developer, to build eight parking garages that would anchor the plan. More than just a convenience, the parking structures would raise the site out of the Ohio flood plain. While the city planned to use a half-cent sales tax to fund the project, revenue shortfalls have stranded the Banks once again.
