Garden Grove Gambles on New Hotels

Garden Grove, CA, is planning six new hotels but some question if the city will benefit from the heavily subsidized hotels.
Making the most of its proximity to Disneyland, the cityof Garden Grove, CA, is planning 6 new hotels with a total of 1,600 rooms with an eye on benefits from bed-tax revenue."The transient occupancy tax, commonly referred to as a bed tax, is 10 percent, compared with Anaheim's 15 percent. That savings may be attractive to families traveling on a budget." But some question if the city will benefit from the heavily subsidized hotels.
