Petition For Open Space Funding In Utah Falls Short

An initiative by open space proponents in Utah fails to get on the November ballot by just a few signatures.
When the Utah State legislature failed to pass a bill last winter to put an open space bonding question on the ballot this November, a coalition of conservation groups worked to collect signatures to do what the legislature wouldn't. The effort enjoyed broad public support, but once again, a recently passed measure by the legislature has stymied the effort.
