A Planning Career In... Shenzhen

The booming city of Shenzhen in South China plans to recruit thousands of experienced overseas planning professionals.

"The city also aims to recruit government employees from overseas for the first time, to work in urban planning and management, education, public health, culture, science and technology, finance, insurance, securities, transportation and port management sectors... Between 1992 and 2003, Shenzhen sent four head-hunting delegations overseas and recruited more than 1,700 senior professionals."
