Rocky Mountain News profiles Shapins and Moss, a landscape architecture firm specializes in heritage tourism
"The public doesn't spend much money on landscape planning," said Shapins, 58. 'We plan trails and parks, but don't do a level of large-scale landscape planning that really identifies scenic resources and cultural resources. Look how ugly the public realm is, how ugly the streets are, how ugly shopping centers are.' ... One of Boulder's largest landscape architecture firms, Shapins was behind the street-scape portion of recent renovations along Broadway in Boulder on either side of the new bridge over Boulder Creek."
