Inspired by Vancouver, the Trinity River plan could transform Fort Worth, TX.
"What started as an idea to improve recreation on the river has morphed into something grand: a plan to reroute part of the Trinity, turn a near-blighted area across the river from downtown into an island showcase of waterfront properties and convert the river into the centerpiece of the city. ... Very few cities have so much underutilized land so close to downtown -- and so ripe for redevelopment. That alone made it an attractive rehab project. Throw in a river, and you have the chance to build something incredible."
