The Toronto native is celebrated for his work on 'unplanning.'

While known as an architect, John van Nostrand's ideas about affordable housing and the connections that build community earned him the award. From a new town near Toronto to city development in Ghana, the urban planner has plans for another twenty-five years of projects.
