New Urbanists Andres Duany and Anton Nelessen keynote the Building a Better Richmond conference in Virginia.
"The Richmond area should scrap its model for suburban development and borrow from the best between Windsor Farms and Shockoe Bottom, two internationally known planners told about 500 business and community leaders yesterday...Duany emphasized he doesn't advocate prohibiting the current style of suburban development. Instead, he called for flexibility in local zoning codes so both types of communities can be built."
