Tri-Rail's Boca 'Station Of The Future'
11 April 2004 - 9:00am
A transit-oriented development in South Florida is heralded by Tri-Rail as the future for rail stations.
"The new Boca Raton station south of Yamato Road will let passengers buy a cup of coffee or a newspaper, get a haircut or go to the bank and pick up dry cleaning on the way to work or home... The project will be pedestrian-friendly, with a landscape plan that features tree-lined walkways and bike paths. With the relocation of the train station to the property, corporate employees will have a commute from Broward, Palm Beach or Miami-Dade counties without the hassle of driving -- and a short walk to the office buildings at the site."

“
And many of us – the majority, in fact – find ourselves living in a drive-only landscape, where we must burn gas even to reach a transit stop, if one exists.
