Panhandling Hurts 'Destination Appeal'

Panhandling and homelessness is adversely affecting Denver's convention business.
"Dozens of meeting planners, who ultimately decide where conventions will be held, are giving Denver poor marks for widespread homelessness and panhandling, according to surveys by the Denver Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau. The issues affect perceptions about the city's safety and destination appeal, which are among a handful of key items planners consider when choosing a location."
