Community-run clothing stores are a growing trend in the rural West.
Ken Witzeling, a pharmacist in Powell, Wyoming, decided to open a clothing store after the only one in his rural community closed. In addition to selling brand name clothes normally available only in shopping centers far away, he sells shares in the business. Powell and several other communities have open community-run stores to sell a variety of quality clothes and earn money in the process. Towns from throughout the West and in rural areas around the country have expressed interest in the idea.
