Cities With Highest Public Transit Use

New York, Washington, D.C., San Francisco and Boston are the cities with the highest public transit use among commuters.

"Of the approximately 6.4 million people nationwide who usually travel to work using public transportation, nearly one-third live in New York City, according to a new analysis of American Community Survey data released by the U.S. Census Bureau. San Francisco is among the cities with the highest use of public transit, according to a U.S. Census Bureau report released Tuesday. The only U.S. cities with higher public transit use were New York, with 55 percent, and Washington, D.C., with 37 percent."
