Are high-density, socially-mixed communities of tall, skinny towers on townhouse bases always the way to go?
Vancouver-style high-rise downtown residential districts are being touted world-wide as a "bold new idea" for sustainable development. When "a few blocks of Vancouvers Downtown South, [are] tractor-beamed to a perch in the shadow of the Transamerica Pyramid," the results sometimes get lost in translation.
