Portland Makes Taking Rail To The Airport Enjoyable

The Bee's "Back-seat Driver" columnist tries Portland's train to the airport and pronounces it a success that Sacramento should emulate.
After an convenient and rapid trip in Portland, columnist Tony Bizjak sees a future for Sacramento that includes rail to the airport. Although the demand isn't yet at critical mass, expected freeway congestion should spur planning now. An interesting point: "There was no rack for luggage. Portland officials say they tried that but learned that people want their luggage next to them."
