San Diego's City Of Villages Makes Progress

Five model projects which are part of San Diego's 'City of Villages' concept are approved.
Approval of the five model projects by the San Diego's Planning Commission are an important symbolic step in a "planning process that began four years ago when the city undertook an overhaul of its decades-old general plan for guiding growth. The pilot villages, as they're being called, are ambitious revitalization efforts designed to not only promote these five walkable, intimate neighborhoods, but also to inspire other parts of San Diego to embrace similar village-like developments in a city that is fast running out of suburban land for housing."
