Toronto architects ponder the influence of Frank Gehry on the eve of his long-awaited homecoming
Los Angeles-based architect Frank Gehry is returning to Toronto, the city in which he was born and raised, to unveil his new design for the Art Gallery of Ontario. In the midst of this anticipation, many local architects have cited Gehry's innovative approach to modernism as an influence in their own work. However, not all seem to agree on what Gehry's legacy will be and whether his designs will play a significant role in the evolution of architectural theory and practice.
