A Small Town's First Part-time Planner

A refreshing article about a planning commission in the small town of Rutland, MA, that hires its first part-time planner -- and appreciates him.
"The five-member Rutland Planning Board has hired a part-time professional planner to assist with local growth issues. Stephen Parker of Worcester, formerly the planning director for the City of Worcester, was hired January 12. He'll work 10 hours a week, thanks to a $25,000 Metropolitan District Commission grant."
