Suburb Plans To Raze Entire Downtown And Build A New One

Lake Zurich, IL, plans to create an entirely new downtown district within an existing town after razing the existing one.
"Lake Zurich officials are proposing to rebuild the village's entire downtown district, a project that experts say could be unprecedented... The village and a group of developers would buy and raze dozens of buildings and replace them with three- and four-story mixed-use structures designed to give the feel of a quaint resort town."
