New (Sub)urbanism In St. Louis

In suburban St. Louis, developers and local officials see denser, pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods as land-use possibilities.
"St. Louis' older suburbs, once an escape for urban refugees, now are replicating traditional city neighborhoods, all in an effort to keep longtime residents and draw new ones...The trend, a form of New Urbanism, comes as the region's inner-ring suburbs are seeking their place amid continued development westward - and even new growth in the Metro East."
