A plan to develop a windmill farm on the Niagara Escarpment provokes controversy and intergovernmental infighting.
"Hamilton-based Superior Wind Energy Inc.'s propos[es] to build a $150 million commercial wind farm on Blue Mountain on lands surrounded on three sides by the [Niagara] escarpment...Last week, Grey County Council rejected a recommendation from its own planning committee to ban windmills on the escarpment after Lovell told council the Niagara Escarpment Commission was trying to 'suck and blow at the same time'... 'The further away people live, the more supportive they are of the windmill project," said Wilson who served as energy minister under the Ernie Eves government."
