Washington Post: It's The Schools, Stupid

The Washington Post editorializes that Washington D.C. must put education first if the city is to be revitalized.

"We do not wish to suggest that the District's mayor and council members are wasting their time when they squabble over such issues as downtown property development or whether the city should go into the hotel business... As its future economic vitality and cultural life are sapped, the city as a whole will discover that it too has paid a high price for the school system's failure."
