East Providence Reclaims Its Waterfront

25 December 2003 - 11:00am

'On 27 acres along the Seekonk River, blighted industrial buildings are to be replaced by homes, shops and restaurants in a $200-million transformation.'

In East Providence, RI "...a bevy of state and local leaders came to the edge of the Seekonk River yesterday to bid adieu to some of the symbols of a tarnished waterfront and say hello to a promising new day. If all goes as planners hope, the 27-acre property that once was also home to Washburn Wire will become a place with shops, restaurants, offices and condominiums."
