NYC to Get Another Green Lung

A new public park, of the same scale as Central Park, is in the works in Staten Island, NYC.
The site of the planned park, the Fresh Kills facility in Staten Island, is the largest landfill in the United States. "Among some of the ideas being discussed are a variety of environments and habitats such as marshes, mangrove swamps and woods which would also encourage wildlife which may have lived on Staten Island in years past."
