Profile Of Denver's New Planning Director
5 December 2003 - 9:00am
Peter Park is Denver's new planning director, and formerly lead Milwaukee's Department of City Development.
"In one of their most aggressive moves, Norquist and Park persuaded Wisconsin's transportation department to demolish a one-mile stretch of the aborted Park East Freeway (a 1960s scheme intended to circle downtown), liberating 23 acres for redevelopment... Park will encounter a large and somewhat unwieldy department. It includes planning, urban design, historic preservation, neighborhood inspection services, development review, zoning and the building department."
