Memphis' Urban Renewal Plan

Within a year, Memphis' new arena will open. The deadline has caused a renewed focus on urban renewal in the surrounding neighborhoods.
"Strolling along Beale Street, the proximity of the rapidly rising FedExForum is startling. That proximity and the short distance between the arena and other Downtown attractions such as Peabody Place is one of the main reasons city officials and the Center City Commission say new development is all but assured around the city's $250 million investment."
