Best Walking Neighborhoods in Nation's 'Fattest City'

It may be one of the "fattest" cities in the nation but it does has a few walking neighborhoods.

In its fight to overcome the distinction as the "fattest city in America," this article identifies some of the best neighborhoods to take a long walk in San Antonio, TX. Criteria for a walking-friendly area are discussed. The print version of the article provides maps suggesting a walking route in each of the areas described."San Antonio isn't a city friendly to walkers. Which is one reason among many that we're always at or near the top of every "fattest city in America" list ever released...The problem is, in many neighborhoods, sidewalks are rare or nonexistent."
