Memphis Light Rail Comes In Under Budget

The Memphis light rail extension provides another example of new rail transit lines are coming in on time, under budget.
Construction of the Madison Rail Line extension is $19 million under budget, the head of Memphis Area Transit Authority said Tuesday. The agency budgeted $74 million. Now the cost is expected to be about $55 million, which includes the purchase of five trolleys and other equipment.
