A new Brookings study examines five metro areas to determine which strategies foster technology development.
Successful technology development in smaller regions requires a rich andvaried mix of strategies, building upon existing industries and assets. This study, co-published with CEOs for Cities and authored by Paul Sommersand Deena Heg, examines five metro areas in Washington state, focusingon telecommunications infrastructure, startup capital programs, and research institutions and their roles in fostering technology development away from major technology centers.
