Oregon posts reward for driving less.
Out here where I live and drive in the Pacific Northwest, the State of Oregon is taking a crack at lowering car insurance costs and reducing the collateral damage from driving. In July, a new law took effect that encourages insurers to reward motorists for driving less by selling insurance on a per-mile rate. The big payoff: Keeping more dollars in your pocket and helping to slash the huge environmental consequences of America's drive-through way of life.
