Choppers Could Ruin Wilderness Experience

Environmentalists fight against lumber company plans to use helicopters in logging operations in theNorth Coast region of California.
The Sierra Club and the Environmental Protection Information Center have filed a lawsuit against the Pacific Lumber Co. for their plan to usehelicopters in logging operations. The decisionwill impact the North Coast region of California. The 705-acreplot over which this lawsuit is filed is 7 milessouth of Eureka. Pacific Lumber Co. says that the use of helicopters protects the environmentin keeping with the Headwaters agreement that restricts logging roads. Environmentalists saythe choppers will ruin the wilderness experience.
