Keeping Venice Above Water

Venice is sinking into the sea and scientists agree that flood barriers are the only way to save the historic city.
"Venetians have been leaving the city in drovesits population of 60,000 is now half of what it was only a few decades ago. If the gates stop the continual flooding of the city, it will make a big psychological change to the city...Venice might then become a city where more people will want to live, invest and do business, rather than just visit.
