Miami Arts Center Flaws Slammed

Flaws in Miami's $265 million Performing Arts Center could compromise sound quality, and drive up cost by as much as $50 million.
" 'These are issues affecting what the building looks like, what it sounds like, what it feels like'..." Management Board members are "concerned that structural faults in steel tubing, acoustic faults in sound-baffling equipment and other errors threaten the project's quality, already delayed a year past its original opening date of October 2004."
