Is new urbanism changing the way the public thinks about downtown -- even if they don't know what new urbanism is?
"Designers say the new-urbanism model is the American city's response to the many people who abandoned downtowns for suburbs during the last 60 years...: When it came to buying his current home, Mr. Esau decided to follow a trend that is increasing in popularity across the nation. Instead of buying a large suburban house, he chose to live inside Atlanta's city limits, where there is quick access to nighttime and weekend activities such as baseball games, bars and museums."
