Revitalization plan seeks to attract pedestrians and retailbusinesses.
A revitalization plan for El Segundo's downtown areacalls for measures such as reducing lanes and increasing sidewalk widths in an effort to attract more pedestrian and therefore retailbusinesses. While the plan encourages retail development such as sidewalk dining, it alsobans street front offices and service stations.Downtown property owners praised the plan'sobjectives but criticized the ban on offices.
