Swedish furniture retailer Ikea's largest Asian store opens in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur.
Crowds of people flocked to the grand opening of Ikea's newest store in Malaysia. Having outgrown a smaller space in Kuala Lumpur, Ikea created a huge sensation here with their new 36,000 square meter big box warehouse. Westerners aren't alone in craving trendy modern furniture and home knick-nacks. "I'm intrigued to know why Malaysians have been apparently so easily won over by Swedish furniture.After all, in Europe Ikea sells first and foremost on price...Here in Malaysia its products undercut other Western imports, but aren't particularly cheap when compared to local furniture."
