Summer Road Temperatures Test Tires In Phoenix

The casualty rate from tire-blowout related incidents peaks in the hottest months of summer in Phoenix, Arizona.
"During summer months, thick strips of tire treads are scattered all over the freeways, graphic evidence of tire failures. Vehicle owners sometimes share the blame by failing to check tire pressure. Low air pressure causes the tire to heat up abnormally, a major cause of tire failure when Valley temperatures climb."
