Preemptive War On Sprawl

In a city rated as one of the nation's best places to live, a proposed plan asks voters for money to fight sprawl.

"Ann Arbor wants to step beyond its borders in the battle against sprawl. The city's mayor will unveil a plan today asking voters for money to buy land or development rights to land outside the city limits to form a greenbelt...Ann Arbor has been rated as one of America's best places to live...The townships and small cities surrounding Ann Arbor have become prime targets for developers turning corn and soybean farms into communities of big homes.
