High-speed Train For Southland

Proposal for a Southland high-speed train system using magnetic levitation technology is being considered.
The Southern California Association of Governments is overseeing a proposal by the Southern California MAGLEV (magnetic levitation) fora high speed rail system using magnetic levitation technology. The proposal calls for the train link to start at the L.A. International Airport and continue through Union Station downtown and the San Gabriel Valleyand terminate in the Inland Empire. The proposal -- one of seven to be reviewed nationwide -- will be submitted to the Federal RailroadAdministration to enter a nationwide competition for $950 million federal funding for design, engineering, and construction.
