Growing Criticism For Queensway Bay

A proposed $100 million shopping center in Long Beach is facing growing criticism from residents.
As developers near the start date for the proposed Queensway Bay shopping center, residents are voicing environmental concerns. Environmentalists say the Queensway site -- the area between the Convention Center and the Aquarium of the Pacificas -- should be turned into a park. City officials argue that the aquarium needs an adjacent commercial district and Queensway will help bring in more tourists.
